The snow is always better on the other side of the fence
Since we finally made it above 40 degrees the other day, I took the girls outside to blow bubbles. This drew squeals of happiness from my oldest princess. Squeals! The bubbles were very amusing until she discovered the small, dirty pile of snow along the garage. It doesn't snow in Henan Province, so this was something new. The first time it slid down her boot, she about died. Then she discovered you could make balls out of it and pelt it at her poor, innocent mother......thanks Joy. She spent a very long time just kneeling in the snow admiring it and making snowballs. Then, she decided it would be fun to chase her poor, innocent, really hard-working mother around the garden with a snowball......again, thanks Joy. On one of her trips around the garden to torture her poor, innocent, hard-working, tired mother, she noticed the huge pile of snow on the other side of the fence. She tried and tried to gather as much of that, while reaching thru the fence.......alas, she fell over and had to give it up. Back to the first pile. She made herself a nice big ball of snow and then I told her to listen, as I had heard Kevin pull into the driveway. She smiled and said, "Baba?" I nodded. Her eyes gleamed with mischief and she got the biggest grin on her face and I knew Kevin was a goner, too. She met him at the gate with a big smile and......POW! He was socked with a snowball, made from dirty snow and thrown by an 8 year, who had just spent her first afternoon in the snow. Bliss!
