Many firsts for Miss Julia
Living in an orphanage doesn't generally provide a kiddo with too many fun activites. There are too many kids and not enough adults. And then there's lack of money......So, having left her orphanage behind, Miss Julia has been having a ton of new experiences. She has gone shopping....flown on an airplane....ridden on a bullet train.......eaten new foods......received a Chinese passport with an American visa in it......gone to a park......bought an ice cream cone......eaten more food........bought some new shoes and dresses........tried her first Black Cow.......talked to a Catholic priest about Jesus......said her first prayers.......eaten some more.......gone swimming.........played her beloved games on everything from iphones to androids and Kindles to ipads.....watched TV.....eaten even more foods.....tried out a wheelchair......ridden on Daddy's shoulders.......seen the Terra Cotta Warriors....eaten, yet again.......and slept in a warm and cozy bed in a fancy hotel. And this is just in the past 8 days! Can you just see her face when it snows? Or at Christmas? Or when she gets to blow out the candles on her very first birthday cake? Or when she gets to open her very own presents? Or when she finally gets a hug from her Mei Mei and her Mommy? Or when she finally curls up in her very own bed on Thursday night? I can't wait! I remember when we first met Joy......she was very curious and into everything. But, the lights weren't on yet. Not much sparkle in her at first. But, within a few days....her eyes got brighter and brighter. And now, nearly 4 years later, she shines all the time. Julia will shine even brighter, too. She is already starting to sparkle. It is the most beautiful thing to watch! There is nothing more wonderful than watching your child's face light up......and seeing it happen over time is amazing! Can't wait!
