This weekend we took Joy on her first road trip. We went to Minnesota to see Kevin's family. It was a great chance to see how Joy would do on an overnight away from home and a car ride for 5 hours. She did awesome! We started out at Church on Sunday morning, and kept driving until she woke up. She slept for 4 hours! Perfect timing, as we were nearly out of gas and were hungry! She was awake for most of the last hour, but happy. She did great at the party/family stuff, and even helped with the clean-up! Coming home, she slept for the first 2 hours, and was awake for the rest. Once again, happy! Very few protests. She's a trooper! She loves to go places, so we hoped she'd do well, but we couldn't imagine she'd be this good. She'd just sit in her carseat and look at books or play with toys. We'd hear giggles or "oh's" from the backseat. And something else.....When we got home, there was no relief upon arriving. Just an "of course" kind of attitude. Like where else would we go? Of course we'd come home! She was very glad to see her kitties, though. Lots of "heys". All in all.....a success!
