Summer, dragons and paperwork

So......not much going on here......how about you????  We have been spending a lot of time inside.  That happens when it's 102 every.single.day.  When we get stir crazy, we go shopping.  Fun times, I tell ya!  On Saturday, we headed into Chicago for the Dragon boat races.  Joy has been so excited to see them, but last year it was cancelled......due to.....get this........too much rain!  Yeah.....the park was flooded.  This year I checked to make sure they weren't cancelled due to no rain.  You never know, right?  But, they were still racing and we got to see the finals and Joy was happy......well, sort of......it was 95 and humid.............doesn't make for a happy kid, really.  We've decided not to go again until she's a teenager.............when she will roll her eyes at us instead of screaming and crying.  At least we hope so!

And then there's the paperwork.......our Homestudy is done and is at DCFS awaiting approval.  When that comes back we need to send in our I800A.  That's when we ask U.S. Immigration to bring a child home.  While we are waiting on all that, I am sending all our other documents to the Secretary of State (IL and WI) to be certified.  That means they say that our notary public exists and is current.  Next we will take all those things to the Chinese Consulate to be authenticated.  Then we send it to our agency, who sends it to China.  Hopefully, Immigration will be moving quickly and we can be DTC (dossier to China) in late August.  Then we wait for China to do their thing.....hopefully fast!  We can't wait to get our girl home!!!!!!!!!!
