Referral day!

Two years ago today, we saw Joy's face for the first time. Hard to believe, huh? The goofy little face that we now know so well, had been a mystery for 4 years. We wondered for so long who our daughter would be and seeing her picture for the first time was nothing short of amazing! It's funny how that picture told us so much about her. All her little personality traits are so clear in her photo. I believe her paperwork said she was obstinate. If you know Joy, you know that might be a slight understatement. It is her way or the highway! She looks kind of ticked off in her photos, too. She hates to be confined. She has to be able to move or she will complain loudly! Remember her legs were tied to her chair. Definitely not something she would like! Who would? I always thought she looked like she was watching everything and taking notes. And she does! She notices everything and never, ever forgets. It is crazy the stuff she will remember. Obviously, there are loads of things we know about her now. She is super silly. She's a wild dancer. She loves knock, knock jokes. She is strangely strong. She is a social butterfly and will make you be her new best friend. She doesn't take "no" for an answer. She loves to help bake or cook. She smiles all the time, which we couldn't wait to see, since she is so unhappy in all her referral photos. She's a nightowl, but likes to sleep in. She is super helpful, and is always offering to help me carry something in from the car. She gives the best hugs ever. Seriously. And the kisses! Well.....no one gives kisses like Joy! And there is nothing like kissing those cheeks of hers! Nothing! Yummy! We love her to pieces and cannot imagine anyone else being our little girl. Weird how that happens.....
