Yesterday we were up bright and early (ugh!) and headed north for Mae and Josephine's First Communion. I wasn't so sure how this would go. Joy is not known for her stellar behavior in Mass.....we usually sit in the hallway......and Julia is pretty ticked off that everyone trots up to the priest and gets a "snack" except for her. I was sure we were in big trouble here. But, my girls surprised me again! They were great! Well....except for the one time Julia decided her undies needed adjusting and lifted her dress up (yes, all the way) and began yanking on them. The poor people behind us............which was everyone, since we were sitting in the second row! But, other than Julia's peep show......all went well. Phew! Afterwards, there were some tasty treats to be had next door. Julia was very happy to see strawberries and then they brought out a cake. Now, Julia is not a cake eater. No way, no how. But, this cake was different. It had strawberries in it! Oh, the happiness! But, after awhile we realized that the strawberries inside were not the main attraction..........it was the frosting! HA! Julia will be an American kid, yet! I think she licked off every bit of frosting she could find. MMmmmmmm!
Next, we headed to Grandma's house for some brush burning, playing and..............yes............ice cream! There is nothing better than a day spent playing with your cousins, followed by ice cream! I brought home 2 filthy, tired little girls last night! But, they were happy! Julia is still asleep...............shhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!
