Don't you just love it when you are blessed with gorgeous fall weather? Generally, it's raining and bone chilling at this time of year. But, the past few days, we have had gorgeous weather. Today, was supposed to be around 70 degrees! I have no clue what the actual temp. got to, for we were out on yet another road trip! The goal was Galena. We never got there. We decided to head towards Savanna and wiggle our way along the Mississippi to Galena. But, tummies grumbled and Joy needed to run, so we began to look for a safe place to let her move and feed ourselves. We had our trusty cooler filled with food, so we were set! And there, along our new favorite highway- route 84, was Mississippi Palisades State Park. Oh my! Have you been there? It's the most beautiful place! Tons of overlooks. Lovely views of the river. And no one there! Picnic tables and everything! Joy had a blast eating her new favorite food- KitKats and Kevin and I were amazed at the views. We were chowed by Asian Lady Beetles and No-see-ums (from which I have 2 nice welts), but it was still a great place. We will be going back pretty regularly, I believe. We were so excited to see as much as we could, that we decided to skip Galena and stay at the park. What more could one ask for? Gorgeous weather, sunshine, amazing views of the greatest river, peace and a totally cute little girl to share it all with! A good day indeed!
