Family Day #3!!!!!
Oh my.......how embarrassing...........I have not been keeping up yet again...............to be honest, it's not my fault! The computer died in October and Santa took his sweet ole time bringing me a new one! And then, well.......I've been busy! Anyways...........that's for another day. Today is a pretty special day around here! It's Julia's 3rd family day! That means it has been 3 years (yes, years) since Kevin and the grandmas met her in China! Can you believe that? I, for one, cannot. Looking back on her photos and remembering her behaviors I can't believe it's the same girl! She was just a baby. Complete with baby tears and baby games. She hadn't done much walking and fell all the time. She used to catch her big toe on our doorways and rip the skin. Then she'd refuse to walk for a week or so. And let me tell ya, she was heavy! These days we are back to falling all the time but she is much stronger and the falling is only for 2 more weeks and then.......running! Yahoo!!!!!!!! The baby games and tears have been replaced with smiles and Star Wars. And football! Yes, football! She tells me she's over basketball. Football is the new game. She even plays on a team at school recess. With the boys! No girly stuff for Miss Wen. Football! In fact, for her family day gifts she is getting some very boring clothing and.......football gloves! With grippers! In pink! Gotta have a little pink! Along with all her changes in the past 3 years has come physical growth. She is now 4'3" tall and weighs in around 72 lbs. She is almost taller than everyone in her class! Which is good cause she's 2 years older! All this growing has caused some problems. Her hamstrings haven't been keeping up and the poor girl now has a crouched gait as well as walking on her toes. But, never fear! Surgery time is almost here! Once again, Julia will be going down to Lurie on the last day of school before spring break for surgery. She is very happy about it too! Falling all the time is never fun and walking the way she is is exhausting! So, one night in the hospital and then home for 3 weeks in full leg casts. But then........running! She has been waiting for that for a long time! Next up......hip surgery.......bleh......her right hip has dislocated and needs to be fixed. More on that when I have some info. from the specialist! That one will probably be beastly.......sigh.....but for today it is family day and she is pretty darned happy about that! One thing at a time!

Three years already! I am so happy she is making great gains. Hubby is looking at hip surgery this spring as well. I love to see the girls' pictures. They are growing too fast, as is Claire.
